Louisiana Avenue Transit Center. 1300 Louisiana Avenue, St, Louis Park, MN 55426. > View on interactive map. Description: Built in 1992, the Louisiana Avenue Transit Center is located in the southwest corner of Interstate 394 and Louisiana Avenue. The site includes 330 surface parking spaces.
W. & L.E. Gurley patented a Latitude Level on September 2, 1884. Its purpose was to "recover the Latitude of a Solar Transit, without referring to the vertical arc; and generally for setting the telescope at any desired angle in running grades, etc."
The transit is also equipped with a gradienter that measures elevations of the telescope, and that cost an additional $18. Gurley began making these gradienters in 1885. Gurley introduced the Light Mountain Transit in 1876.

The W. & L. E. Gurley Building is a historic industrial building in Troy, New York, United States. Built in 1862, it is a classical revival structure that housed the W. & L. E. Gurley Company, a maker of precision measuring instruments.
