8 Νοε 2018 · Bigger than a three gang switch box, you're going to need the 8-port push in Wago or Ideal wire connector... lever locks only go up to 5 ports. A combination of backstabs, lever locks, push in connectors, Buchanan crimps, and wire nuts, all used in the most optimal places, will result in the fastest install.

As someone who does not professionally install electrical (and can consistently make solid wire nut splices), the higher cost of the Wago is dwarfed by how reliable they are compared to my wire nutting ability.
I'm very much a home gamer when it comes to electrical but have been taught to never use push-in terminals. My question is why Wago connectors are considered a safe but push-ins aren't? Isn't it basically the same risk for fault?

I have tried both, and I think the Ideal connector levers are more secure than those on the small Wago 221 version. On the new small Wago 221 connectors, I have found the levers tend to lift easily. The connection is very secure with wago and I waste less wire when using them. The wires are easily and cleanly fitted into the box and I can reuse them. Only downside to wago is that they don't make connectors with 4 slots (if so I've not seen them).
2 Μαρ 2024 · Wago 221 connectors are so reliable that (contained within an appropriate "Box") in the UK they are allowed to join conductors in non-accessible "Maintenance Free" situations. In my opinion (and, apparently, that of UK regulators) it seems that Wago Lever Action connectors are the best that have ever been invented! try Reading The Directions !
