The table shows the ground attack type, with the damage, cooldown, damage per second and range. Range of 0 is melee. The attack and armor types are very important, because some attacks will do bonus damage (or less damage) against certain armor types. The calculation for the amount of damage can be quite difficult.

Just wondering which units for each race are safe picks and tend to do better overall. best overall unit of them all is dryad - fast, with slowing attack, can attack everything and is magic immune with dispel. for other races maybe - destroyer, raider and every t1 ranged. Rifel, fiend, bear, raider.

E. g. all units have an early (tier 1) melee and ranged unit: footmen + riflemen, ghouls + crypt fiends, archers + huntresses , grunts + head hunters. Then all factions have a tier 1 siege unit that requires barracks equivalent + smithy equivalent and that siege unit gets an upgrade on tier 2.
