You can connect your washing machine drain to the sink. However, for good backflow prevention, you probably shouldn’t. Instead, connect to the waste line the sink connects to, or tap in further down from the P-trap.
The drain hose should be connected to a standpipe or a drain located above the washing machine. To prevent overflow, the drain hose needs to be at least 30 inches high. You can secure the drain hose to the standpipe or drain using a hose clamp or a clip.
