The Mitsubishi MU-2 is a Japanese high-wing, twin-engine turboprop aircraft with a pressurized cabin manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. It made its maiden flight in September 1963 and was produced until 1986.
The Mitsubishi MU-2 is a twin-engined nine-to eleven-seat utility and corporate aircraft produced by the Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Production was performed by Mitsubishi's North American subsidiary Mitsubishi Aircraft International Inc. in San Angelo, Texas / USA.
The short body aircraft generally seats seven, but there are several aircraft configured with a side facing bench seat that holds eight. Pilots who perhaps have only flown the short body MU-2 once or twice might report that it is difficult to land.
The MU-2 was progressively upgraded over its 20 year production run, but essentially there are standard fuselage versions that seat six or seven passengers, and stretch versions that seat up to 11. Mitsubishi certificated all the civil TPE331 powered MU-2s as variants of the MU-2B.
