Male Indochinese tigers (P. t. corbetti), though smaller than Siberian tigers in body size at 2.85 meters in length and 195 kg, have the longest skull of all tiger subspecies, measuring 319 to 365 mm. Sumatran tigers (P. t. sumatrae) are the smallest living subspecies.
Tigers have been known to reach up to 20 years of age in the wild. Males of the larger subspecies, the continental tiger, may weigh up to 660 pounds. For males of the smaller subspecies—the Sunda tiger—the upper range is at around 310 pounds. Within both subspecies, males are heavier than females.

Amur or Siberian tigers have pale orange fur as against the typical golden yellow fur, and they also have brown stripes instead of black.
The Smithsonian's National Zoo has two Amur tigers, a female named Nikita and a male named Metis, and one Sumatran tiger, a female named Damai. Damai gave birth to a male Sumatran tiger cub on July 11, 2017.
