This pattern is followed in verse 9 and repeated in verse 10 for emphasis: The desire: “want to get rich” (v. 9), “love of money” (v. 10); The deception: “snare” (v. 9), “wandered away” (v. 10).
Paul addresses Timothy with an unusual title, calling him, "O man of God," (1 Timothy 6:11b KJV). That is a remarkable word. In the Old Testament this title was reserved for the prophets, but, in the New Testament, only Timothy is addressed this way.
