Prison Industries (PI) is a team of prisoners in Fox River who do jobs around the prison that the prison itself does not have the resources to fix. According to Michael, the starting pay is 19 cents an hour. Jobs include painting, cleaning and repairing damaged rooms.

How did Linc get on PI? I just started rewatching season 1. When Michael first gets into Fox River there's a big point made how dangerous Linc is. He's kept in his own area at yard time and no one is allowed to even go near his fence.

season 1 spoiler! When Sucre went to PI to fill the gaping hole with cement once more, I couldn't help but wonder how it was feasible. They must have dug relentlessly to create such a vast opening, leaving it exposed and gaping.
