1 Ιουν 2021 · A paradise for nature and outdoor enthusiasts, Cat Tien National Park is one of nine UNESCO Biosphere Reserves in Vietnam. This is one of the largest national parks in Vietnam and one-of-a-kind thanks to its biodiversity.
In the flat eastern half of Nam Cat Tien especially, there are a number of swamps (see above) surrounding isolated, poorly-drained small open areas – typically 3–10 ha – that might best be described as wet meadows – that are often surrounded with swamp forest and may also contain vernal pools.
6 Αυγ 2018 · Cát Tiên National Park is one of the largest nature reserves in Vietnam, encapsulating a tremendous 719 square-kilometres, and stretching across three different provinces. Although the park was technically established in 1992, its history goes back to the 1970s with centuries-old trees to prove it.
It is one of Vietnam's most important and largest National Parks with now rare lowland woodland, containing areas of old-growth (primary) forest. To add to its conservation value, in the south-west it is contiguous with the Dong Nai Culture and Nature Reserve to the south-west.
The natural area of Cat Tien National Park is 71,000 ha, stretching over 3 provinces of Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Binh Phuoc and is surrounded by 90 km of Dong Nai river. Guests are kindly requested to strictly observe the following rules in order to allow everyone a pleasant stay:
The park covers 71,350 Hectares (275 square miles) of lowland tropical forest and swamp in southern Viet Nam and is home to numerous birds and mammals. It is approximately 160 km (100 miles) north east of Ho Chi Minh City, from which it is accessible in 3-4 hours.
Cat Tien National Park is located in the transition zone between Vietnam’s Truong Son Mountain Range (the highlands) and Mekong Delta. Because of its unique location and the existence of 5 different forest types within the park, Cat Tien supports an amazing range of plants and animals.
