23 Μαΐ 2023 · The tutorial explains the syntax and basic uses of the IF function in Excel. You will learn how to create an 'If then' formula for text, numbers, dates, blank cells as well as how to write multiple IF statements.
There are four different types of calculation operators: arithmetic, comparison, text concatenation, and reference. To perform basic mathematical operations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division; combine numbers; and produce numeric results, use the following arithmetic operators.
13 Οκτ 2017 · A common requirement in Excel is to identify positive and negative numbers. This is usually to apply a different calculation to it e.g. a positive (credit) bank balance earns say 5% but a negative bank balance (debit or overdraft) incurs an interest charge of 10%.
One common example of this is when you have to sum the positive numbers in Excel (or only sum the negative numbers). And this can easily be done using the in-built formulas in Excel. In this tutorial, I will show you how to sum only positive or negative numbers in Excel using simple formulas.
For simple formulas, simply type the equal sign followed by the numeric values that you want to calculate and the math operators that you want to use — the plus sign (+) to add, the minus sign (-) to subtract, the asterisk (*) to multiply, and the forward slash (/) to divide.
14 Απρ 2017 · I am trying to make a formula to look at the previous column, if it's a positive number it is to do one scenario, and if it's negative it needs to carry out another formula. So in words - If A1 is less than 0, then answer is B1, if A1 is more than 0 then answer is (B1+(D1-C1))
The equal sign tells Excel that the characters that follow constitute a formula. After this equal sign, there can be a series of elements to be calculated (the operands), which are separated by calculation operators.
