8 Οκτ 2024 · A steam table is a type of food-holding equipment designed to keep hot foods at a safe holding temperature in high-volume businesses. They're ideal for use in kitchens, buffets, cafeterias, or hotels. They typically feature two or more compartments to hold full-size pans or a combination of smaller pans.
The data found in a saturated steam table always refers to steam at a particular saturation point, also known as the boiling point. This is the point where water (liquid) and steam (gas) can coexist at the same temperature and pressure.
Steam tables. Steam tables indicate properties of steam at various pressures and temperatures (depending upon how the table is designed). The properties listed are usually: Pressure. Temperature. Specific volume of dry saturated steam (V g). Enthalpy of water at saturation temperature (h f). Enthalpy of vaporisation (h fg). Enthalpy of dry ...
What are steam tables? Take it from me, saturated steam tables are essential to you as a steam user. You’ll make use of these tables to determine the steam temperature from steam pressure, along with its heat energy carrying capability.
The following tables of the properties of steam are taken directly from Chapter 5.5.3 of the Heat Exchanger Design Handbook, 1986, by C. F. Beaton. The tables in this section are reprinted, with permission, from NBS/NRC Steam Tables.
