26 Ιουν 2024 · Target Costs are calculated based on the standard cost estimate for the actual produced quantity. The Target input Qty is calculated as Planned Input Qty/Planned Output Qty * Actual Output Qty. And Target Cost is Standard Cost* Target Qty on the order.

Target Costing. You want to evaluate the performance of your cost centers. You notice that the comparison of the planned costs with the actual costs shows whether planned costs have been exceeded. But the question arises: are the actual costs incurred justified?
The system calculates target costs so that the same basis is used to determine the variances between the control costs and the planned costs. The planned costs are adjusted to the actual costs by dividing the confirmed quantity by the planned quantity.
