The SAT is a standardized test meant to show schools how prepared you are for college by measuring key skills like reading comprehension, computational ability, and clarity of expression. Because so many students take the test, it also provides schools with data about how you compare to your peers nationwide.
What's on the SAT. How the SAT Is Structured. The digital SAT is composed of two sections: Reading and Writing and Math. Students have 64 minutes to complete the Reading and Writing section and 70 minutes to complete the Math section for a total of 2 hours and 14 minutes.

23 Φεβ 2024 · Previously called SAT II: Subject Tests, and before that Achievement Tests, each Subject Test examined students’ understanding of material taught in school. There were 20 available tests grouped into five main categories: Math, Science, English, History, and Languages.
Since its debut in 1926, its name and scoring have changed several times. For much of its history, it was called the Scholastic Aptitude Test and had two components, Verbal and Mathematical, each of which was scored on a range from 200 to 800.
