28 Ιαν 2019 · I don't use any Whatsapp client on Ubuntu, but from my computer I use Whatsapp web: https://web.whatsapp.com. It's an official Whatsapp web site meaning as trustable as Whatsapp phone app. There are plenty of Firefox extensions that work with it. There is also whatsdesk, an unofficial client for Ubuntu.
This applies if you had it working but failed suddenly. For this it is important to know that the client in the browser is a software for its own (web.whatsapp.com). From time to time the client in the browser is updated and might not be compatible with the prior versions. I could solve it by remove the registered device within WhatsApp.

31 Δεκ 2021 · There is still no way to install a native Linux application for whatsapp, so I always use whatsapp's webapp with my daily browser (chromium based brave-browser). Everything works [mostly] fine, except when I need to click on a whatsapp link in a web site, that is supposed to open a conversation with a certain new cell phone number.
