Teenagers who are interested in working in the state of North Carolina can do so at the age of 14, and all minors who are looking to work must obtain a work permit (known as a Youth Employment Certificate) prior to employment.
If you receive an offer of employment, please provide your Youth Employment Identification Number (YEID), to your prospective employer. The employer will enter the YEID on the NC Department of Labor website.
