24 Σεπ 2021 · View the full list of reports here. The wildlife reports are divided into surveys addressing five species groups, including small game, big game, waterfowl, furbearers and nongame. The wildlife surveys are conducted throughout 2020-2021 by DNR staff and dedicated volunteers.
Lakes. It's easy to fall in love with Wisconsin's 15,000 lakes. The DNR partners with the University of Wisconsin - Extension and citizens around the state to help protect and maintain these amazing natural resources while providing some of the best recreational opportunities in the nation.
The purpose of this survey was to sample Lake Altoona under the Wisconsin DNR’s tier 1 lake sampling protocol for public access lakes in Wisconsin. Data from this survey was compared to historical data to 1.) Evaluate walleye population and size structure and 2.)
24 Ιουν 2024 · Dean Bortz: Here’s how the Wisconsin DNR fish teams conduct their lake surveys. Fyke, or box, nets are set right at ice-out to capture primarily walleyes, but the Wisconsin DNR crews handle all species found in the nets. As the water warms, the crews then shift the fyke nets to muskie spawning sites on the same lake.
