The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) conducted a comprehensive survey of Blackhawk Lake in 2020. The primary focus of this survey was to estimate the abundance and size structure of Walleye and assess the relative abundance and size structure of other gamefish and panfish in the lake.
Harvest is influenced by game population levels, hunter effort, hunting regulations, weather conditions and pelt prices. These reports were made possible by Pittman-Robertson funding. Semi-annual reports are distributed in April and August.
This page provides anglers and other users access to fish survey data collected by Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) fisheries staff during electroshocking and netting surveys on lakes, rivers and streams.
The purpose of this survey was to sample Lake Altoona under the Wisconsin DNR’s tier 1 lake sampling protocol for public access lakes in Wisconsin. Data from this survey was compared to historical data to 1.) Evaluate walleye population and size structure and 2.)
clips and PIT tags. Immediately following the netting survey, one night of electrofishing SEI was conducted for the recapture survey for Walleye to obtain a population estimate. Additionally, after water temperature reached °F, another night of electrofishing SEII was conducted to target bass and panfish species.
