The Fisheries Management Information System (formerly FMDB) is a DNR system that holds statewide data on fisheries assessments, angler surveys, fish stocking, fishing tournaments, permits, investigations of fish die-off and more.
Wildlife reports are divided into surveys addressing five species groups: small game, big game, waterfowl, furbearers and nongame. Interpretations of data in these reports are subject to change as a result of data verification and more extensive data analysis.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY. In the spring of 2021, a fisheries survey was conducted on Lake Altoona. The adult walleye population was estimated at 9.9 adults/acre, which is high and is entirely sustained by natural reproduction. Mean age-0 walleye abundance was also high at 105/mile from 2011-2021.
