23 Ιουλ 2020 · One of the pictures of that mount, that I’ve listed below, perfectly illustrates one of my questions - for GMRS antennas that need a ground plane, they do not need a bare metal contact point between the antenna/cable and then mount/vehicle to achieve that?
9 Ιουν 2020 · My ham VHF/UHF antenna setup is a Diamond CR-8900A mag mounted in the attic on a metal plate. It works OK for local repeaters but like I said I prefer GMRS over ham. Your proposed mounting and grounding specs look fine.
8 Νοε 2022 · Nearly all the performance of a GMRS base station is in the antenna system, which includes the antenna, the feedline and height. Of the three antennas you list I would say DPD, no. DB-408, expensive and no. Laird 4605 no, go bigger and get the 4607 rated 7dBd or 9.15dBi gain at the very minimum.
12 Δεκ 2015 · Might be easier to mount your GMRS antenna above your TV antenna. Spend additional money on the coax cable, get better/lower loss cable to make up for the longer cable run. If your TV antenna stayed up during the high winds, then adding a small base antenna on the top would probably work.
