Install Windows 7, put the OSX disk in, and rather than letting it autorun, open the disk manually and select setup. The compatibility checks Boot Camp seems to run appear to be bypassed this way.
27 Ιαν 2021 · I made a bootable USB with OS X Lion on it (I believe it was the OS X that came with this model of iMac) but the iMac does not seem to detect the flash drive. When I hold the Option key while booting, it only shows my Windows 7 partition and nothing else (no Recovery partition, no Macintosh HD).

25 Ιαν 2015 · I am trying to install Windows 7 on it via Bootcamp. However, its optical drive does not work, so I chose the USB key solution using the trick of modifying the file info.plist of Bootcamp (type 'usb bootcamp youtube' in google to see a video of this trick).
24 Νοε 2023 · There are the following ways to address this problem: Use Apple Software update from Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5722 (or a newer Boot Camp Support Software version) Get latest iTunes that supports Windows 7 (which is version 12.10.11.2 (April 23, 2021)), and extract Apple Software Update from it using this method.
