4 Ιαν 2016 · I'm looking for a text file viewer (ideally an editor too) that will do the following (ordered from most to least important): Load the file quickly (10 seconds for a 10 GB file off an SSD) Once the file is open, jump to specific line numbers fairly quickly (~1 second per lookup)
In Windows 10 opening up a .txt file from the search would make it the new active window and put it in front of everything else, however in Windows 11 the file opens up behind all other currently open windows.
3 Οκτ 2023 · If you want to see the end (or start) of a huge text file (e.g. log file) in an instant and search within that then I haven't found anything better. Got it in the Windows Store, so installation is easy.
11 Οκτ 2022 · 1. Notepad++. To work with huge text files, the free and open source Notepad++ is by far the best editor. We tested this by creating a 750MB text file containing six million lines of text, then opened the file in various text editors and measured the results.
