17 Μαρ 2011 · The F# keys on the mac are mapped to alternate functions like play|pause. Try holding down Function and pressing F8 to get the "default" behavior.
I'm using Virtualbox 3.0.8, Mac OS 10.5.8 and trying to run a Windows XP guest on my macbook (black version) When I arrive at the page where I have to press F8 to accept, it doesn't work. 1. it makes the "mac error noise" when I press F8 (cause that's volume, not F8).
In Windows on your Mac, click in the right side of the taskbar, click the Boot Camp icon , then choose Boot Camp Control Panel. If a User Account Control dialog appears, click Yes. Click Keyboard. Select or deselect “Use all F1, F2 etc. keys as standard function keys.”
If you miss those good old days of Windows XP and want to run Windows XP from a Mac, then I have a simple solution for you. Run Windows XP on a modern Mac using the UTM app, and work on Windows XP from within macOS!
When I begin to install Windows XP Pro, SP2, from a non OEM, Windows disk, I get to where I must accept the license. To accept, I must hit the F8 key, but it's not being recognized-- hitting that key only calls a Mac action (toggling the keyboard illumination).
19 Αυγ 2017 · If you mean that the keyboard doesn't work inside the machine then that's not the problem, as it seems to work for everything except the f keys (like f2, or f5 ect) (for example i can page up, down, and disagree to the terms of service (using esc) its only the f keys that aren't working.
