Unless your mouse suffers a hardware failure—by getting dunked with coffee or being batted off the side of your desk by a bored cat—odds are good that any performance glitches you see in that device are easily corrected within your operating system's core settings utility.
Check for wired mouse connection issues. If the mouse does not work, it could be a connection issue. Turn off the computer. Disconnect the mouse cable. Turn on the computer. Reconnect the mouse to the computer. Connect the mouse to a port directly on the computer rather than a USB hub.
