In early 2009, we added beef to our dairy breeding program, along with sexed semen. The idea was to add value through cross-breeding. The process took some trial and error and several combinations were tried. In 2010, Riverview found a solution using Wulf Limousin genetics.
The homozygous black Limousin and Jersey breeds have proven to be a complementary cross for Wulf, who has been selling the resulting all-black fed cattle to Tyson for the past two years.
Wulf Cattle began more than 50 years ago as Leonard Wulf & Sons, Inc. selling Limousin and LimFlex® (Angus hybrid) seedstock. The operation ranks in National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Top 25 Seedstock Producers. Our knowledge and cattle feeding experience is the driver for our genetic program.
