Other people don't like the patch because people will see it or it looks ugly. I put it on my upper butt so nobody except my significant other sees it. It's a very private method depending on where you apply it.
29 Ιουν 2020 · If you're reading this and you're unsure, I totally recommend the Xulane patch! I keep mine on my lower abdomen, and I put a clear Nexcare Tegaderm on top of my patch (lasts up to 7 days, no issue) to secure it and give me peace of mind.
For me, Xulane was the first birth control Id experienced in 2021. I was only on the patch for a month. Everything was alright with your usual nausea and sore breasts side effects, except the Bleeding I did for a whole month. After applying my 4th patch, however, i woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat with my heart and head drumming.
From Xulane.com: “Your Xulane patch must stick securely to your skin to work properly. Do not tape or wrap the patch to your skin that is no longer sticky, if it has become stuck to itself or another surface, has material stuck to it or partially adhered to clothing.”
I was on the patch for a year. The first 4 months, no side effects. Then they switched me from Xulane to Zafemy. (Zafemy is a whole separate issue and made me very ill. I know they say it’s an equivalent but there’s no way). I did go back on Xulane after 3 months or so but my body never reacted the same.
