I am offering some replacement parts for early vintage Yamaha FG’s. My current focus has been the 1966-1976 models. These parts may or may not fit 1977 and later models. See my forum for the most current info about Replacement Parts for Vintage Yamaha FG’s.
I have a 345 that I bought new in 1980. Am doing deep cleaning and polishing now. First time that frets were reshaped. Time for new strings. After looking for more info about yamaha frets, I found your forum, great! Thanks for all your work. As I am reading all the posts I check my guitar and noticed it has some problems that I like to fix.
10 Δεκ 2017 · I have read that the FG series from the 70's had laminate tops, but the luthier told me that the spruce top to my FG-345 is, in fact, solid, showing me how the grain is consistent through the top. According to the serial number, my guitar was manufactured in March 1977.

21 Ιουλ 2014 · No cracks, no super wear and tear, though it does have a jack-hole drilled in the lower-bout side (pickup since removed). There are also scuffs and nicks and light scratches throughout but the guitar is structurally very happy. It's a standard dreadnought size.
When you are looking for a solid guitar, the Yamaha FG 345 Acoustic Guitar is an excellent choice. The classic vintage look and style are appreciated by all types of musicians, and it is available in several different colors.
I have to assume this is a FG-345II, with the truss rod adjustment in the body. For some odd reason, Yamaha used 9 digit serial numbers in 1982, adding the last digit, 4 digit unit number vs. 3. Since yours is 301180460 (1/18/1983), I assume the 9 digits carried into early 1983.
