OUR CONGREGATION. The Salesians of Don Bosco (or the Salesian Society, officially named the Society of St. Francis de Sales) is a Roman Catholic religious institute founded in the late nineteenth century by Saint John Bosco to help poor youths and children during the Industrial Revolution. The institute is named after St. Francis de Sales.
PROVINCE. The first Salesians arrived in Zambia in 1982. At present, we work in four countries: Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Namibia. In 2012 we celebrated the 30th Jubilee of the Salesian presence in ZMB. Please find more information under “Organization”.

Salesians of Don Bosco – ZMB Vice Province. 1.1 Who is Don Bosco. John Bosco popularly known as Don Bosco was born on 16 th August, 1815, and died on 31 st January 1888. He was an Italian Roman Catholic priest, educator, and writer of the 19 th century.
Focus 2021. Rundu - ZMB 16-05-2021. Don Bosco is becoming Namibian in Rundu. (Rundu, Namibia) The Namibian week (April 21-April 27) of the Extraordinary Visitation of the ZMB Vice Province (February-May 2021) was a true Salesian spirit celebration.
31 Μαΐ 2021 · Also, the Salesian mission is growing in many ways: a first street children project in Zambia, six new secondary schools (2 of them started in 2021), the relaunching of the SYM in each of 14 Oratories and the fast-growing Association of Salesian Cooperators (11 centers with 265 promised members).
