This liquid-cooled turbocharged 2.0-liter (1,991 cc) DOHC 16-valve straight-4 diesel engine uses common rail direct fuel injection and delivers 168 bhp (125 kW; 170 PS) at 3,880 rpm (62.0 kW/liter). The propeller is driven by an integrated gearbox (ratio 1.69:1) with torsional vibration damper.
The ZR engine is a family of straight-four 16-valve all-aluminum and water cooled gasoline engines with a die-cast aluminum block and variable valve timing developed by Toyota Motor Corporation, produced from 2007. Engines displace from 1.6 to 2.0 liters.
The engine uses 16-valve (4 valves per cylinder) head with chain-driven camshafts. Like non-turbo 4B11, the 4B11T uses MIVEC continuous variable valve timing on both the intake and exhaust camshafts. The diameter of the intake valves is 35.0 mm; the diameter of the exhaust valves is 29.0 mm; the valve stem diameter of both valves is 5.5 mm.
An EFI 16-valve DOHC is a four-cylinder engine with four valves per cylinder, dual overhead cam and electronic fuel injection. Most engines with these features have a displacement of 2.4 liters or less.
