8 Μαΐ 2015 · This 5 piece square puzzle made the perfect challenge to give to my math students for Brain Teaser Thursday. It has been a lot harder than I anticipated to come up with a different brain teaser for every Thursday.

The first puzzle uses all five pieces to make a square. Hint 1 : Different sizes of squares can be made with some or all of the pieces. However, a square can be made that uses all five pieces, side by side, with none of the pieces on top or over lapping another piece.
Objective: Assemble all 10 pieces into a solid, flat square, (no holes in the middle are allowed). There is also a booklet available that has many different shadow patterns. The objective here is to use all 10 pieces to duplicate the shadow images.
