The 6.5mm Creedmoor (circa 2008) is another short action match cartridge that is loaded to higher pressure to compete with the .260 and 6.5x55, which have greater case capacity. Heavily promoted by Hornady, the 6.5 Creedmoor has successfully caught the attention of hunters and rifle manufacturers.
The recoil of the standard 6.5mm cartridges is moderate, the trajectory is adequately flat for most purposes (including hunting in the mountains or on the plains), and their killing power is generally excellent due to the high sectional density of most 6.5mm bullets.

11 Απρ 2011 · I have a pre-64 M-70 in .30-06 and love the balance. I doubt I will be able to find something as elegant in 6.5 x 55 SE but I'd like to get something that's well balanced, lightweight (6.5 lbs unscoped) and accurate. I've sourced an M-70 Classic FWT in 6.5x55, in nearly new condition, for $1,000.
