13 Οκτ 2010 · I have both, and do not think that you could go wrong with either one. The 6.5 x 55 has less recoil and perhaps more panache, but the 7-08 is about as good as it gets as a deer round.

28 Νοε 2010 · Have built, all on Savage actions, and loaded for 260, 7mm-08, 6.5x55 and 6.5 Creedmoor. The 6.5x55 was and still is my choice over all the rest.
For the options listed above (7mm08, 6.5x55, 308) it all pretty much comes down to a personal preference. Some are slightly better at longer (6/7/8/9 hundy) distances, some have slightly lighter recoil, some have a slightly larger range of projectiles to choose from... Share this post on.
13 Νοε 2015 · The 6.5 Swede compares to the 7mm-08 more evenly when using 120 grain bullets in the Swede and 140 grain bullets in the 08. Field performance of these loads will be very similar.
14 Δεκ 2022 · Anything you want to hunt with a 7mm-08, you can hunt with a 6.5 Creedmoor, but it’s easier and cheaper to find 6.5 ammo in a wide range of bullet weights and constructions. For most hunters, that’s more important than 125 fps at the muzzle.
