12 Απρ 2017 · Not sure which one is best for you? We'll cover the pros & cons of 9mm vs .45 ACP, from stopping power to expansion, accuracy, price, capacity, and more.
21 Απρ 2022 · The 9mm cartridge has a muzzle velocity of around 950 – 1400 feet per second, while the 45 ACP cartridge has a muzzle velocity of around 700 – 1150 feet per second. This means that the 9mm cartridge can be traveling twice as fast as the .45 ACP cartridge.
All things being equal, there is no difference in accuracy between the 9mm and 45 ACP. However, there is one caveat and that would be muzzle velocity. As the 9mm round fires a lighter bullet at a higher velocity, it will have less bullet drop over distance making it the better choice for long range shots.
18 Σεπ 2024 · 9mm cartridges utilize smaller, lighter projectiles that usually weigh anywhere from 115 to around 147 grains, which can reach velocities between 1,100 and 1,300 FPS, depending on the load. Although smaller than .45 ACP, modern 9mm rounds deliver a solid amount of kinetic energy onto a target.
23 Φεβ 2022 · When the 9mm vs 45 ACP test got to hollow point ammo, the differences were again…minimal. That’s largely because most modern JHP ammo is all designed to do the same thing: penetrate more than 12 inches in gel and expand after defeating common barriers.
22 Σεπ 2022 · Pistols in 9mm hold between 20 and 30 percent more ammo than .45 pistols. Felt recoil of 9mm handguns is about half as much as pistols chambered in 45 ACP. This is why the FBI and many other law...
Velocity and Recoil. Traveling between 950-1400 FPS, the 9mm has a higher muzzle velocity in part due to its smaller diameter and lighter bullets. The higher velocity of the 9mm can also contributes to increased accuracy and to slightly better bullet expansion (as a percent increase).
