Albert E. Sleeper State Park is a public recreation area on Lake Huron in Lake Township, Huron County, Michigan. The state park encompasses 723 acres (293 ha) four miles northeast of Caseville , close to the tip of The Thumb of Michigan.
Albert E. Sleeper State Park comprises 723 acres of forest, wetlands and sandy beach and dunes located on the Saginaw Bay of Lake Huron. Visitors can watch both sunrises and sunsets on the bay, relax in the shade and seclusion of the campground or roam the trails of the ancient dune forests.
7 Φεβ 2024 · It was originally named Huron State Park, but it was renamed Albert E. Sleeper State Park in 1944 after the 29th governor of Michigan. The campground at Sleeper is one of my favorites in the lower peninsula of Michigan, offering over 225 sites surrounded by wilderness.
