Warlock is a very popular class and a lot of questions get asked about it regularly on this subreddit, the main BG3 subreddit, and the Discord. From Eldritch Blasting and spellslinging to swinging around a pact-bound blade, Warlock offers a lot of build flexibility with its unique approach to spell slots and customization via invocations.

14 Αυγ 2023 · Warlocks only get 2 spell slots (which is why you spam a cantrip) but the advantage is you always cast at the highest level available to you, and you get your spell slots back after a long rest. Bg3 makes long resting trivial, so the warlock advantage is negligible because you can long rest just about any time and anywhere.

28 Αυγ 2023 · Race in BG3 doesn't really matter as much now as DnD in general is moving away from stats. Drawback for Humans is lack of Darkvision, which you can get as Warlock. Thematically Tieflings are still a solid choice. Githyanki are more martial focused...but again, play what you think is cool/interesting. As for cantrips.
7 Σεπ 2023 · Cantrip power scales at Character level 5 and 10 in BG3. For EB that means 2 bolts at L5, 3 bolts at L10 (other cantrips merely increase the damage. Only EB increases # of bolts instead) So you could be Warlock level 2 and Sorceror 10 for example (total character Level 12).
Do note though that ANY multiclassing of Warlock in BG3 denies you Lifedrinker due to the level 12 cap in the game. So if for some reason you want Lifedrinker on your Pact of the Blade Warlock, the ONLY way to do that AND get Heavy Armor on your Warlock is either Githyanki/Shield Dwarf Medium Armor racial Proficiency --> Heavily Armored Feat, or TWO armor feats with any other race.
15 Νοε 2023 · Just go Gith Warlock. Easy. You can spam spells on short rest, have medium-armor+Long & Greatsword proficiency, and two attacks of a martial. And being Gith you get a bunch of Gith specific weapons, plus one of the best legendary greatsword is also Gith specific. Also, Astral Knowledge is by far the best racial bonus in the game.
1 Αυγ 2023 · At level 1 they're roughly the same but as you can cast your warlock spells with your bard slots and upcast them, and considering Agathys scales better and lasts until long rest in bg3, here you go. Upcast it with your level 2 slots later on and you now have 10 temp hp, plus you deal 10 and possibly 20 damage if you're attacked.
9 Αυγ 2023 · However, full casters can cast this as a ritual in BG3, making it kind of obsolete. Even sorcs can cast it as a ritual, even though they don't have access to ritual casting on tabletop. You will be doing a LOT of EB spam. Luckily, short rests are easy to come by in BG3, so you can cast your spell slots without too much worry.
