Applying for a visa (or permit) is simple and straightforward – and brings your journey to Bhutan one step closer. All visitors require a visa before travelling to Bhutan (except those from India, Bangladesh and the Maldives, for whom the relevant processes and fees are outlined separately below).
Nationals exempt from advance visa to enter Bhutan. Bangladeshi, Maldivian & Indian nationals do not require visa while coming to Bhutan. Thai and Swiss nationals holding official and diplomatic passports while coming to Bhutan do not require visa.

Requirements: Copy of Passport (other nationals) Recent passport size photo. Copy of Passport / Voter ID card / Birth Certificate for children below the age of 18 years (for nationals of India) Passport must have minimum validity of six months from the intended date of departure from Bhutan.

20 Μαΐ 2024 · All visitors, including those on U.S. government business, must get a Bhutanese visa to enter and leave Bhutan. It may take up to 5 days to process a correctly filed visa application, and you cannot buy airplane tickets to Bhutan without visa clearance.
