Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) I left school and went to Gillotts in 1958 as a van lad working Parson Cross with Horace Ratcliffe. I remember Tony and his wife. Also a very nasty accident in the garage when a mechanic died when a van on a ramp caught fire.
1 Ιουλ 2015 · Here's a 1901 photo of Barleycorn Inn, 38 Cambridge Street according to Picture Sheffield. Doesn't look anything like Blackbeard's later photo though. The road line looks different too. Maybe it's the back entrance. Is this how you remember it grannypat or is it incorrect? Or well before your time.
2 Ιαν 2015 · I am wondering if anyone who worked for Husband & Co during the 1950's-60's is still around, but particularly anyone who may have been involved with or worked directly on the Jodrell Bank telescope project. Hi. My husband worked directly on the Jodrell Bank telescope project. Unfortunately, he passed away with cancer in 2016.

I went on a Steel City Ghost Walk yesterday and was informed that a Hotel called the Adelphi used to occupy the site where the Crucible Theatre now stands. This hotel was apparently bombed in 1940 and the remains of it were left for a long time before the plot was finally built on.

4 Μαρ 2014 · Bullerboy Those cars had a lot of torque which helped to make the muscle cars so much fun. We had a Pontiac Trans am witha line lock on the braking system and limited slip diff .As you probably know the line lock disabled the rear brakes to enable easy rear wheel steering from the accelerator, not very sophisticated but was a lot of fun.
