This is the English retranslation patch of Breath of Fire II made by d4s, which fixes all the official translation's mistakes -which made the dialogues quite weird for instance- and provides a translation faithful to the original japanese version.
While Breath of Fire II's original translation is rough, you can absolutely still play through it and understand the story and dialogue. Hell, I was able to when I was a child. There's a lot of hyperbole that gets thrown around with BoFII's translation.
