Guard Card Renewal. A guard card is valid for two years, after which time you must renew. You will receive a notice in the mail approximately 90 days prior to expiration. At that time, you must complete a renewal application and pay a renewal fee of $35. You have a grace period of 60 days following your card’s expiration date.
