The Operative Plasterers' and Cement Masons' International Association of the United States and Canada (OPCMIA) is a trade union of plasterers and cement masons in the construction industry in the United States and Canada.
As a union member you will have the protection of a union contract with basic rights including: Improved job conditions. The right to a fair hearing. The ability to speak out for yourself and your fellow workers on work-related issues. We collectively bargain our own contracts.
The Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons International Association also known as the OPCMIA, represents the member of one of the world’s oldest and most noble crafts. The Union’s 56,000 members are the proud carriers of a tradition that predates the pyramids.
In addition, a union cement mason from Local 500 is on the upper end of the construction pay and benefits scale. Becoming a union cement mason Local 500 is not a job, it’s a promising career that provides for individual and family independence as well as pride of work.
27 Απρ 2024 · The OPCMIA International Training Fund provides uniform, state-of-the-art, world-class training in our crafts – cement masonry and plastering. It combines classroom instruction with hands-on experience to ensure that our members are the most skilled craftspeople anywhere.
Since 1864, members of the Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons’ International Association, the nation's oldest building trade, have organized workers and their community to the benefits of union membership and building with union craftsmen. Many improvements for workers in our industry and country came about from their struggles.
