Thrall, earlier Stiles Switch, established 1876 when the I. and G. N railroad built west from Rockdale, named Thrall in 1901, at the request of the Stiles family who admired minister-historian Homer S Thrall, prominent in Texas at that time.
1 Μαΐ 1995 · Thrall, TX. Thrall is on the Missouri Pacific Railroad and U.S. Highway 79, six miles east of Taylor in eastern Williamson County. It was founded in 1876 as a railroad station on the International-Great Northern line and was first called Stiles Switch, after a family that owned a ranch at the site.
