Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Limited, (dba: Citycell) [3] was the oldest mobile operator of Bangladesh. It was the 1st mobile operator company in Bangladesh and one of the pioneering telecommunications network companies in South Asia, along with Etisalat of Sri Lanka and Paktel of Pakistan.

7 Φεβ 2021 · Citycell was the first and oldest mobile operator in Bangladesh. It was the only mobile operator to use CDMA and EVDO technology. As of 2011, Citycell’s total number of subscribers was 1.9 million. However Citycell’s subscriber base gradually kept declining and at one point they were forced to shut down.
11 Σεπ 2024 · Pacific Bangladesh Telecom in the application, signed by its head of regulatory and corporate affairs Nishat Ali Khan, argued that Citycell was excluded from various technological upgrades, including spectrum allocation, due to political decisions by the then government.
