Does anyone know how to get a Cross twist pencil apart? I just acquired a Cardinal 0.9mm pencil whose twist mechanism seems a bit loose (pushing down a bit hard on the lead will make the mechanism turn!), and whose barrel has a nice dent in the side.
16 Φεβ 2016 · Now I know is isn't a pen but its urgent. I believe I screwed my cross mechanical pencil too much, it's a set with a pen. It won't go back into place and is sort of just slipping off the body. I'll attach some photos. Help would really be appreciated!

18 Μαΐ 2011 · My Cross gold ballpoint Century (mid '70s) twist mechanism is jammed, and I've no idea how to disassemble and repair it. I'm afraid to sent it to Cross, as it has sentimental value, and I don't want them replacing it with a new one.

The set isn't really made anymore, I found one on Ebay fo $40 named Cross Classic Signature Pen & 0.7mm Pencil, and I won't pay $40 for the pencil since I don't care about ballpoints~
If you retract the mechanism, does it stop properly? If it does, then you can fish around through the tip with a needle to try and break up any lead there. If it doesn't, then likely one of the little metal ears on the moving part inside has sheared off, and your best bet is to try sending it to Cross.
