Crow Wing County is a county in the East Central part of the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 66,123. [1] Its county seat is Brainerd. [2] The county was formed in 1857, and was organized in 1870. [3] Crow Wing County is included in the Brainerd, MN Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Brainerd is the principal city of the Brainerd Micropolitan Area, a micropolitan area covering Cass and Crow Wing counties and with a combined population of 96,189 at the 2020 census. The city is well known for being the partial setting of the 1996 film Fargo .

14 Σεπ 2024 · Brainerd, city, seat of Crow Wing county, central Minnesota, U.S. It is situated in a forest and lake-resort region south of the Cuyuna Range along the Mississippi River, about 60 miles (95 km) north of St. Cloud. The area was inhabited by Ojibwa Indians when it was visited in 1805 by explorer.

The Crow Wing County Historical Society has been preserving Crow Wing County's history since 1927. The museum, located in Brainerd, Minnesota, is housed in the old Crow Wing County Jail and Sheriff's residence, built in 1917. the museum has three floors of exhibits including displays on the lumber industry, the railroads, mining, and home life.
