Downloading. In case you don't already have Csound (or have an older version) download the appropriate Csound version for your platform from the Github Csound Download Page. Installers for Windows have '.exe' extension and for Mac '.dmg'.
The classical way to use Csound is to install a "Frontend". A frontend provides a Code Editor, and you can execute the code by running Csound. Note that Csound is running "inside" the frontend, so usually you will have to install at first Csound via the Download Page, and then one of the Frontends. The most popular are:

Go to https://csound.com/download. Under the Apple icon you will see a .dmg (disk image) for download. After downloading, open the .dmg and run the installer.
