Omani royal family. Haitham bin Tariq Al Said (Arabic: هَيْثَم بْن طَارِق آل سَعِيد, romanized: Hayṯam bin Ṭāriq ʾĀl Saʿīd; born 11 October 1955) [1][2] is Sultan and Prime Minister of Oman. Haitham was born in Muscat and is a grandson of Sultan Taimur bin Feisal.
The Sultan of the Sultanate of Oman (Arabic: سلطان سلطنة عمان) is the monarchical head of state and head of government of Oman. It is the most powerful position in the country. The sultans of Oman are members of the Busaid dynasty, which has been the ruling family of Oman since the mid-18th century.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, May Allah protect and preserve him, took power in the country on January 11, 2020, succeeding the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taymur, may Allah rest his soul, in a smooth transition of power in the Sultanate that was appreciated and admired by the world.
