10 Νοε 2017 · need help, can't download/update dota (SOLVED) I have tried verifying cache, reinstalling,restaring steam/pc and 3 different hardrives. I get a connection timed out error, which makes no sense as i can update and install other games whilst watching 4k youtube fine. This leads me to believe its an issue with steam, but any suggestions are welcome.
9 Αυγ 2014 · Steam started updating my games. When it started to update Dota 2 everything went normal, but when it finished, the download got stuck on "Starting". I tried to pause and resume but it didn't help. If I try to open the game, it starts and I can play normally. Also in the Library it says "Ready to play", next to Dota 2.

Originally posted by graystripe: it is your router. if you can download and install other steam games updates except for dota 2, then it is not steam/valve nor dota 2 at fault anymore. there is something that is blocking you from downloading updates for your dota 2.

Steam Settings > Downloads > Clear Download cache ( it will log you off ) 4. Close your steam completely 5. Go to your Disk and find Steam Library 6.
