23 Απρ 2021 · The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has confirmed to HonestJohn.co.uk that some drivers who are applying to renew their driving licence as they turn 70 will not be able to apply online. This leaves a postal application as the only option, with the DVLA saying it will take approximately six weeks to receive the new licence back.
19 Νοε 2020 · You get the renewal reminder from DVLA around 2 months before expiry, but I don't think it's an issue to apply now - it'll just mean your licence will expire as soon as your application is approved rather than when your current licence expires; February 2031.

A lot of over 70's need their cars to go shopping. Please don't quote home deliveries as an excuse as it is very difficult to get a slot, usually not at all. The DVLA will usually send a reminder out of courtesy, but is not under any legal obligation to. Tags: dvla driving licence.
