Area: 160 acres. Shoreline Length: 6 miles. Max Depth: 10 feet. Mean Depth: 4 feet. County and Town: Wayne County, Town of Huron. Aquatic Plant Life: The bay is very shallow with extensive beds of submersed, floating, and emergent aquatic vegetation that covers almost all of the bay's surface area.
Jamaica Bay is located adjacent to the confluence of the New York Bight and New York Bay, and is at the turning point of the primarily east-west oriented coastline of southern New England and Long Island and the north-south oriented coastline of the mid- Atlantic coast.
Stroll the Beach. We love finding beaches to explore on Lake Ontario. The water always looks incredible, and you never know what you are going to find on the washed-up on the beach, such as cool rocks, treasures, beach glass, or interesting driftwood. This is a long stretch of beach so you can take a nice long walk.
