  2. You can get just the sharpening system and make your own stones for even less, buy the edgepro stones if you want the OEM (since that's the only part in contact with the knife anyway) or go third party high quality, the stones are all compatible and it works great.

I planned on pulling the trigger on a top shelf sharpener this week, but first I wanted to do a little research. Now I can barely see the light up there from this rabbit hole.

  7. Have you tried an Edge Pro or an Edge Pro clone? I'm currently set on getting that style of sharpener, but the Hapstone M2 is $125 more than an EP clone and I'm wondering whether it is worth it. On paper, I can get an angle cube + multiple stones for an EP clone and still be a little cheaper than the M2.
