We've installed a wildlife camera near an active Osprey nest to capture the real-time activities of a pair of nesting Ospreys who return each year to breed.
31 Μαΐ 2022 · Since Pitkin County Open Space and Trails installed a camera to view the Osprey nest at Emma Open Space (the live feed debuted in 2016), the breeding pair that returns to Emma each year has reared between one and three fledglings in every year but one.

The Emma Osprey parents will eventually migrate as usual, but are expected to return to the nest next spring. Ospreys mate for life, but spend their winters apart before reuniting at their nesting site.
5 Μαΐ 2017 · The camera is capturing the comings and goings of an osprey pair that has consistently returned to a nest in Emma each spring. They built a huge nest years ago on a power pole a short distance from the Roaring Fork River.
